  Humour

Brilliant minds have always expressed themselves with humour and wit.

This page will try to do two things:

1: To publish examples of wit, rather than jokes, but also examples of absolute lack of it. Please, see example on the right.

2: To point visitors to sources of humour which the editor believes have a touch of genius, irrespective of other considerations. Because, just as the ancient Greeks discovered, humour, comedy and satire reveal a different aspect of the world, as valid as aspects revealed by art or science.

Anecdotal: An attractive but rather simple young actress infatuated with George Bernard Shaw once went up to him and said, "Oh, George, let's get married and have children. And they will be beautiful like me and intelligent like you." To which he replied, "Yes, but what if they get my looks and your intelligence?"

Digital encounter: My laptop noticed this restaurant advertising, 'We serve breakfast at any time,' so it took over without me and ordered toast in the Renaissance.
